The Classic Car Boot Sale

On a whim a couple of weeks ago me and Him went for a mosey to Kings Cross, to investigate the Classic Car Boot Sale. A whim it may have been, but it turned out to be a WHEELY good day (sorry/not sorry).

Popping up in London and Hastings a couple of times a year, the Classic Car Boot Sale brings together a whole fleet of Vintage lovers. They rock up in their beautifully shiny, restored motors from days gone by, and set up stall selling all manner of vintage booty- clothes, vinyl, homeware, and a whole lot more.

If you have a fear of mothballs and would rather have a little hand-crafted piece made just for you, then there’s a few stalls just for you! We fell HARD IN LOVE with the gorgeous hand-painted signs that were being created on-site, and my heart skipped a beat when I spied all the vintage-inspired bouquets and potted arrangements from Mr Spencer’s Flower van.

After strolling round all the stalls and trying on our fair share of 60’s sunglasses, 40’s hats and 50’s costume jewellery, we made our way to the most exciting bit- THE GRUB!

Situated around a makeshift dancefloor, some of London’s best street food trucks had parked up and were busy flogging their wares to greedy bargain hunters.

Cheese toastie in hand (omg yum) we settled down with a couple of beers from the Routemaster Bus Bar and watched people swing dance to the music being DJed live by Soho Radio and revellers decked out in the most STUNNING vintage getups stride by.

Hunger and thirst fully sated, we found time to check out the Bad Karma Impala- a charity fundraiser enticing you to graffiti on a car, and stopped by the mobile vintage cinema for a sneaky screening (which was so snug and cosy!).

I had no idea that the event would be this COOL and I thoroughly recommend you check out the next one if you’re in the market for a fun, colourful and FUNKY day (yes, I’m bringing funky back guys).

The Classic Car Boot Sale will be on Hastings Pier on the 8th/9th July, and back in Kings Cross on the 9th/10th September- all info here!
